Aloha! We are glad you are interested in joining our family! It is a smart move. ‘Ohana is a managed care health plan for Medicaid members who are aged, blind or disabled. You may have seen or heard about the Quest Expanded Access (QExA) program and some of the upcoming changes. Many people now get their health benefits through Hawaii’s Department of Human Services (DHS) Med-Quest Division. As of February 1, 2009, you will get your health benefits from a managed care plan, like ‘Ohana which is contracted with the DHS to help provide quality, cost effective health care. We work with doctors, specialists, hospitals, labs and other health care facilities that are a part of our provider network to provide the benefits offered by Medicaid and to coordinate your health care needs.
As a member of ‘Ohana, you will select a primary care provider (PCP). Your PCP will be your personal doctor. They will treat you for most of your health care needs and will work with you to direct your health care. You will also have a service coordinator (case manager) who will be responsible for coordinating your care. They will also ensure your needs are met in between your doctor visits.
Please view the Web to learn more about 'Ohana and why we should be your health plan of choice. You will see that we put you and your family first, so you get better health care. Our members are our priority. We make every effort to make sure you get the care you need to stay healthy.
